I seem to have found a Trojan in the game files!

The Epic Games Store held a joint promotion with Sega and Creative Assembly’s Total War Saga: Troy wherein they offered the game for FREE within a 24-hour window yesterday on August 13, 2020. If you remembered to pick up a copy for yourself during this time you saved an impressive £34.99 / $49.99 / €49.99.

It’s a deal that’s obviously too good to have missed if you’re a fan of Total War games, also, Total War Saga: Troy is going to be exclusively available to the Epic Games Store only for a period of 12 months before it becomes available for other platforms like Steam. It’s a novel way of generating an immediate audience for the strategy title.

“We were optimistic but we couldn’t have predicted this level of excitement,” said Rob Bartholomew, Chief Product Officer. “It’s been incredible to work with Epic on giving this brand new release away for free. Now we get to welcome so many strategy players – new and old – to experience this incredible Saga. We’re very happy.”

This time around Total War is taking place in the Bronze Age and especially highlights the conflicts surrounding the legendary battles of Troy. It’s novel for someone to literally pay 7.5 million gamer’s to play your game, but that’s what Epic have done here. At this rate peoples Epic Games library will soon be on a par with Steam’s – I’m sure this is also the intent so that loyal Steam users may start to purchase more games for their EGS collection.
