They’re on fire recently, aren’t they?
First their Western arm comes out with a reveal trailer for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, now Square Enix Japan has created a teaser page with the below image, teasing a reveal on April 13:
Conversations are going wild using the hashtag #sqex_secret, which the teaser site shows via a timeline on the teaser site. The initial consensus so far is that this points to a new Star Ocean game, a series whose most recent release was five years ago on the Xbox 360 with Star Ocean: The Last Hope back in 2010.
Square Enix do also like ‘multiverses’ around particular series’ too. The Deus Ex Universe is one such initiative, along with the Fabula Nova Crystallis collection that comprises of Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Type-0 and Final Fantasy XV. The other possibility is that it could point to another one of these groupings, but it’s anyone’s guess at the moment.
For now, all we can do is speculate until the big day comes… what do you think?
