Depp Silver has seen fit to release massive playable demos for Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux. The demos which take place over a maximum of nine chapters gives players a chance to play a third of each of the games.

The demos are available now on the Xbox Store and the PlayStation Network in Europe, whereas the US release will soon follow. Making full use of the trial functionality, any progress made in the demos can be transferred into the full game if you do decide to purchase one or both of the games.

“We have already been humbled by the success of Metro Redux on the new consoles” said Dean Sharpe, CEO at 4A Games. “With these trials, we want to give everyone the chance to experience the unique world and the post-apocalyptic atmosphere of Metro. We were inspired by the original shareware release of Doom, and decided to give away as much of the game as we could.”

Let us know what you think of the Metro series, it could be a good time sink before a new Fallout is announced.
