Earlier today, Square Enix broadcasted the latest Active Time Report, where more topics were discussed regarding the latest numbered entry in the Final Fantasy franchise.
Hosted by Hajime Tabata- Game Director for FFXV and Akio Ofuji- Marketing Manager- this report talked more about some of the fan feedback that was received, as well as looking ahead towards the future.
You may recall during a Community Special earlier that Square Enix are going to patch the demo for the game in a move that’s rather unprecedented as far as demos go.
Today, it was revealed that Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae Ver. 2.0 will be released on June 9 2015. This release will update the demo with new features and changes in response to the feedback that’s been received since the demo was launched as a pack-in with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD.
Here’s an overview video that’ll whet your appetite:
It was also mentioned during the Active Time Report that Stella, a heroine that appeared during footage of Final Fantasy Versus XIII will not feature in FFXV. It’s worth noting that although the two projects shared characters and lore, it was stressed multiple times that FFXV is not Versus XIII. In a way, I reckon that this is because FFXV is beginning to take a shape of its own beyond the original vision.
The official campaign for Final Fantasy XV will kick off at gamescom in Cologne, Germany this year. The next Active Time Report is scheduled for then and we’ll hopefully hear a lot more about the upcoming Final Fantasy epic.
If you want to get your hands on Episode Duscae, then you need to pick up a copy of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. It’s worth checking out, but read my review if you need a bit more convincing.
