While the Joes were off traipsing around E3 and lording their privilege over us all in their precious Jetta Confessional mini-episodes, Tony sat idly at home and/or work, soaking in the E3 news not as a journo but as a normie like you. Joining him this week are Friends of the Show non-gamer-who-likes-nerd-stuff Josh Tauzin and game designers Josh and Jessica McGrath of Doppler Interactive. Mr. Tauzin tells us what (if anything) announced at E3 made it outside the Game Nerd Bubble, and the McGraths provide a game dev perspective on the event – networking during gaming conventions, the feeling of seeing a beautiful game and wishing you’d designed it yourself, etc. Why was Nintendo so lame this year? What’s a Gnog and why do we love it so much? Should you marry a woman who frequently drugs you? We give away THREE (3) free games, and the conversation winds through big-hype movies, new Batman, the Tony Awards, the very essence of love and joy itself, the horrible shooting in Charleston and much more. It must be heard. A ton of ground is covered – but we don’t mention Mario Maker. At all. Even once. Not sorry.
