The first expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been announced; Hearts of Stone! Once more playing as Geralt, this time, he’s been hired to defeat bandit captain Olgierd von Everec, who is unfortunately immortal, making his job that little bit harder. You’ll be choosing your own adventure, and events include recruiting a crew of break-in artists, partying all night with a ghost, and outsmarting increasingly bizarre creatures. All in all, it sounds like you’ll be having a fun night out.

Hearts of Stone runs for over ten hours, introducing new characters, more powerful monsters, unique romances, and a new storyline shaped by gamer choices. A brand new system of Runeworlds will also be implemented, that significantly affects gameplay, each impacting a different in game mechanic, allowing for a more varied, experimental playthrough.

There will be a digital and a boxed release, a limited boxed edition of Hearts of Stone, available exclusively at GAME. Inside, it will have a download code for the expansion, two physical Gwent decks, and a detailed rule book, allowing you and your friends to play with two unique sets of cards (monster and Scola’tael) in the more mundane world! However, there is a special initiative being launched for those who purchase the digital Expansion pass, allowing them to buy the cards separately; you can find more information here.
