After almost a full month of being supported by fans on Twitter and Facebook, the Friday the 13th Kickstarter campaign reached it’s $700 000 mark with three days left.
Currently sitting at $703,586 across 10 347(!) backers, the game was proven a success and shows that there’s still love for Jason and the Friday the 13th franchise. It’s been over 25 years since Jason graced our gaming universe with the NES games way back in 1989, but he’s coming back. Currently targeting an October 2016 release, prepare to kill as Jason or be killed by the mask murderer.
Going over the $700 000 mark also insure that players will get the famed Sleeping bag kill. Fans and interested players can still head over to the Kickstarter page and keep funding the game until this Friday, November 13th until 11:59PM EST. There’s still plenty of interesting stretch goals!
Congratulations to Gun Media, Illfonic, Kane Hodder, Sean Cunningham and everyone else involved. If you’re still on the fence, here’s why I believe a Friday The 13th game is a good thing for gaming.
Also the composer behind the original Friday the 13th score, Harry Manfredini, composed a new track just for the game, which you can listen to below:
See you all at Camp Crystal Lake next year!
