Nintendo has brought out a free to download software which lets you win Nintendo themed badges to customise your 3DS home screen with!

You’ve been able to use themes for a while now, but from November 13, 3DS users will be able to collect badges with this new software via this lively arcade. Run by an adorably chatty rabbit, you can have a go with crane games and other arcade classics, or other minigames based off bestselling Nintendo titles, like Mario Kart, Splatoon, and Animal Crossing.

Every day, when you visit the arcade, you’ll get five free plays on a practice machine, but these ones only give you dummy badges. However, if you’re good enough, you’ll be able to win free plays on the machines with the real badges inside. If you’re impatient, however, you can buy plays on the real machine, 90 pence/€1 netting you five plays.

As well as using the badges to decorate the home menu, some can even be used instead of the standard Home Screen icons. You can show off your unique designs and check out other people’s via MiiVerse, only you won’t be stuck with a few. Machines and buttons will change every few weeks or so, so there will be plenty of others to check out in the future.
