During the final video presentation of 2015, Nintendo and the creator of the Smash Bros. series Masahiro Sakurai revealed three new fighters for the Wii U and 3DS versions.
Many details were shared on previously announced Cloud from Final Fantasy VII; with confirmation of an Amiibo coming early next year for him. Alongside this two two new playable fighters, Corrin from the upcoming 3DS title Fire Emblem Fates, and Bayonetta from the critically acclaimed Bayonetta games.
New Mii Fighter outfits will also be added to the game, highlighted by a full costume inspired by Geno from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. To coincide with the release of Cloud, Chocobo hats will be available for Mii fighters as well.
All of these new additions will be the last downloadable content for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. This new content brings the total number of playable characters to 58, the total number of stages across both versions of the game to 84 and the number of costumes and hats to 99 and 97, respectively.
