You didn’t think Capcom was done with bringing past Resident Evil games from the dead, did you? Yes that was an intended pun.
Capcom announced this week that they will be porting Resident Evil 4, 5 and 6 to PS4 and Xbox One. It will be the ninth port of RE4 while it’s the first time that Capcom will release RE5/6 on additional consoles. It also confirms the leak of a possible RE6 HD from a few months back and reiterated earlier this year. It could also bring some credibility to that Resident Evil Outbreak HD rumor.
All three games will available separately digitally for $19.99 / €19.99 / £15.99 and be released throughout the year. First Capcom, will release Resident Evil 6 HD on March 29th with RE5 coming sometime this Summer and finally RE4 will be made available this Fall.
North American players will have the choice between picking them up digitally or physically.
The HD port for Resident Evil 6 will feature the DLC released post-launch on the last gen version; which includes all costumes originally exclusively available through ResidentEvil.net.
Capcom has yet to mention if they plan to give RE5 the same treatment as it featured two expansion packs: Lost in Nightmare and Desperate Measures. Hopefully, they’ll detail RE4/5 re-release as we near their respective release dates.
