In this newest edition of GGS Gamer One Hour Tour, we look at the stealthily released Gears of War Ultimate Edition on PC. Yes, Microsoft just sort of threw this release on to the marketplace with little fanfare after promising a PC version of the game shortly before it was released on the Xbox One last fall. Now, Gears of War Ultimate Edition has dropped, exclusively through the Windows Store for $29.99.

Our tour takes us through the graphics setup, tutorial section and parts of the first Act in the game. We played the game at 1920×1080 resolution with all the details pushed to max settings. We also played the game with an Xbox 360 controller just to make sure the older controller would work if you do not have a new Xbox One controller. Note that the game does have achievements and full Xbox support out of the box, including game DVR and more built in. It is not available on Steam, unlike the timed exclusive Rise of the Tomb Raider. For now, Gears of War Ultimate Edition is Windows Store only and weighs in at a 52 GB download.
