Over the last few days you may have seen some news on a little game from Square Enix. Yes it’s finally happening Final Fantasy XV will be launching worldwide on September 30. What was also announced was the scope of what Square is trying to do with the universe surrounding the game with other forms of entertainment being released in the lead up to the games full launch.

Presented by Sony Pictures Entertainment and Square Enix, Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV is a full feature length CG movie weaves together the complexities of kingdoms at war, royal relationships and epic battles in a tale that will set the stage for the main FINAL FANTASY XV narrative. The movie also features an all-star cast with the likes of Sean Bean (Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones) voicing Regis, the King of Lucis. Lena Headey (Game of Thrones, 300), voicing Luna, the princess entrusted with a mission for Noctis. Finally Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), voicing Nyx, little is known about this character as of yet.

Brotherhood Final Fantasy XV is an anime series that consists of five standalone episodes that explore the friendships between Nooctis and his three comrades. The series will set the stage for the adventure that player will embark upon in the action packed RPG. Also announced was the Platinum Demo, a free download that offers a glimpse into the final game and whisks players a way to a fragmented dreamscape of Noctis as a child. The storyline in the demo is unique and will not be available in the main game. In the demo players take control of young Noctis as he is guided by Carbuncle, his magical guide. Players who complete the demo will unlock the exclusive Carbuncle summon DLC for the full game at launch. Platinum Demo Final Fantasy XV

Finally a new trailer titles “Reclaim Your Throne” was also revealed, showcasing new gameplay and new music from composer Yoko Shimomura. Also unveiled was the games main theme which is a cover of the classic Stand by Me sung by Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine.
