It’s official. The next chapter in the Gears franchise is coming this October.

It’s been almost a year since the game made its global debut at E3 2015, and Microsoft finally announced that Gears of War 4 will have a worldwide launch on October 11th exclusively for Xbox One. Players will be able to find out what’s in store for Marcus’ son: JD Fenix.

This new numbered entry also marks the beginning of an epic new saga for one of gaming’s most celebrated franchises as a new band of heroes rises to confront a fearsome new threat. Built using Unreal Engine 4, the game will return to the dark and intense roots of the original classic, fans can expect a familiar, yet distinct evolution of gameplay experience.
