It’s official. The next chapter in the Gears franchise is coming this October.
It’s been almost a year since the game made its global debut at E3 2015, and Microsoft finally announced that Gears of War 4 will have a worldwide launch on October 11th exclusively for Xbox One. Players will be able to find out what’s in store for Marcus’ son: JD Fenix.
This new numbered entry also marks the beginning of an epic new saga for one of gaming’s most celebrated franchises as a new band of heroes rises to confront a fearsome new threat. Built using Unreal Engine 4, the game will return to the dark and intense roots of the original classic, fans can expect a familiar, yet distinct evolution of gameplay experience.
Want to give the game a shot before October? There’s a multiplayer beta set to kick off on April 18th for those who played Gears of War Ultimate Edition on Xbox One or Windows 10. Those show skipped the remastered version of the original and are Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be able to jump in on April 25th.
