Microsoft has announced that the 2TB Xbox One S console will begin hitting shelves on 2nd August. All pre-orders will arrive on 2nd August and, for those of you that haven’t, you can still pre-order the launch edition through the Microsoft Store and select retailers for £349.99 ERP.

The Xbox One S is the most compact Xbox yet, 40% smaller than the original Xbox One, and includes a built-in power supply. We also shifted one of the three USB ports and the pairing button to the front of the Xbox One S alongside the newly added IR blaster for increased accessibility.

Additionally, the Xbox One S will allow you to watch Blu-ray movies and stream video in stunning 4K Ultra HD with High Dynamic Range (HDR). With HDR support for video and gaming, Xbox One games will look even better thanks to a higher contrast ratio between lights and darks, bringing out the true visual depth of your favourite games.

The redesigned console comes bundled with the new Xbox Wireless Controller featuring textured grip, improved Xbox Wireless signal and added Bluetooth support. The latter requires Windows 10 devices running the Windows Anniversary Update. The controller can be purchased as a standalone item for £49.99 ERP on the same day.

Microsoft will also be offering the console with 1TB and 500GB hard drives for £299.99 ERP and £249.99 ERP respectively. More details on the availability of these two options will be revealed at a later time.
