Konami has announced Metal Gear Survive, a stealth co-op game set in the Metal Gear Solid V universe.
Metal Gear Survive will take “a divergent look at familiar Metal Gear themes and pursues a fresh spirit of exploration in unique gameplay mechanics”. Offering a “unique blend” of stealth and co-op activities for up to four players, you must work strategically to manage “massive threats”, including “combating charging creatures and lethal environments” in an “alternate timeline caused by unexplained wormholes forming in the sky”.
“We are delighted to announce another exciting addition to the Metal Geat franchise,â€Â said Tomotada Tashiro, Konami’s European president. “Metal Gear Survive will offer a fresh take on the series’ famed stealth elements but within a unique co-op setting that is designed for a truly engrossing multi-player experience.â€
This is the first Metal Gear game since Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima parted company with Konami last year.
The new game is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2017.
