The Far Edge of Fate is set to bring a whole wealth of goodies as we prepare to welcome patch 3.5 on to Final Fantasy XIV. We should expect to find out some more tasty news as the next Fan Fest kicks off in Tokyo tomorrow this Christmas Eve.
For now though, Square Enix are teasing us with a few tasty screenshots of what to expect:
Baelsar’s Wall
Built by the Garlean empire as a means to protect its territories (namely the ill-fated Ala Mhigo) from Eorzea’s primals, Baelsar’s Wall is a new dungeon to take on in what I assume will form a crucial part of the main storyline that might just bridge the story from now until the launch of the Stormblood expansion.
Sohm Al (Hard)
The events of Heavensward has created an opportunity for ‘other’s to stake a claim for the dragon stronghold. This Heavensward dungeon will see its challenge cranked up a notch in patch 3.5.
Containment Bay ZT19
The Encyclopaedia Eorzea is already on point with this, as I found out during my eyes-on (Remember, we’ve got Carbuncle plushies to give away!).
The third and final beast of the Warring Triad is Zurvan, the Demon. Following on from Sephirot and Sophia, the third of the imprisoned primals could very well be one of the more challenging ones yet! (At least, I assume so on the Extreme version).
Egi Glamours
Summoners rejoice! The new patch will provide the opportunity to give egi a whole new look with the /egiglamour text command, giving pets the appearance of Ruby Carbuncle, Emerald Carbuncle, and Topaz Carbuncle.
Party Finder Updates
Patch 3.5 will also enhance the Party Finder window in the game. The system will now allow players to be recruited from across data centres, beyond the one that you occupy. This is a pretty great feature if some friends of yours are well invested in other servers. Party passwords can also be configured, if you want to set up a game like this and ensure that only your friends find and join the party.
