Activision has confirmed that Destiny 2 will release in Q3 (which is some time between July and September) 2017.
In a recent investor call, the publisher also detailed “follow-on content plans†which “set the stage for growthâ€.
While we’ve yet to have confirmation yet of whether or not our existing Guardians will carry over – or if the game will, as rumoured, finally come to PC – developer Bungie is thought to be doubling-down efforts on a “great cinematic†story that will be “more accessible to a casual playerâ€.
“The cornerstone of that is a great cinematic story,†said Activision’s Eric Hirshberg in a recent investor call (via Eurogamer). “That’s been a real focus with a great cast of memorable, relatable characters, coupled with some very nice ways to make the game more accessible to a casual player, without losing anything that our core players love.
“We’ve made it more accessible to someone who just wants to have a great more casual first-person action experience.â€
