Blitzball in the Works for Final Fantasy 14?

Straight off the press from the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest, all the way in Frankfurt, Germany… blitzball to come in future installments of FF XIV?

In a press conference at 2017’s Fan Fest, Yoshi P has reportedly addressed the issue of the famous Spiran sport in the hit MMO. Though his exact words were only “Yes there are plans… Maybe,” a “maybe,” is still a good sign of things to come.

Apparently they’re trying to figure out the best way to implement it into the world of Eorzea, but with the announcement of the new beast tribe, the Kojin, which is supposed to be some sort of turtle-esque creature, an underwater sport would make a lot of sense.

The new expansion for Final Fantasy XIV – Stormblood – will release June 20, 2017, for PC and PS4.
