After announcing their upcoming project last week, Bandai Namco finally unveiled the debut trailer for upcoming action-RPG title, Code Vein, which is currently set for a 2018 release on “major home consoles”. While it doesn’t clearly state the targeted platforms, it’s a safe bet that it’s coming at least to PS4 and Xbox One.
The new video showcases the game’s mysterious universe all the while giving a glimpse at the game’s combat. Code Vein also allows players to choose a Vein resident to tag along during their adventure. Choosing a companion that compliments your play style will give them a chance against the horde of enemies.
Code Vein is set in the not too distant future where a mysterious disaster has brought collapse to the world. Towering skyscrapers, once symbols of prosperity, are now lifeless graves of humanity’s past pierced by the Thorns of Judgment. At the center of the destruction lies a hidden society of Revenants called Vein.
This final stronghold is where the remaining few fight to survive, blessed with gifts of power in exchange for their memories and a thirst for blood. Give into the bloodlust fully and risk becoming one of the Lost, fiendish ghouls devoid of any remaining humanity.
