Latest videos show off the neighbours of Far Cry 5
Ubisoft officially revealed Far Cry 5 last week with a planned release on February 27, 2018. The game will take players to the American heartland in the form of Hope County where far-right Christian extremists called the Eden’s Gate have set up shop. It’s up to you, with the help of other freedom-loving do-gooders, to take back control from the cult.
The three videos show off some of the residents of Hope County that will help you during the game’s campaign. With Mary May, a bartender whose family were abducted by the Eden’s Gate, shown standing behind a bar preparing Molotov cocktails.
We’ve also seen Nick Rye fitting a machine gun to his plane as he speaks about the need to protect his children’s future. Nick’s portrayed as a somewhat reluctant fighter, mentioning the military background of his father and grandfather before accepting that he must fight to ensure a future for his child.
Finally, there’s Pastor Jerome. Sitting in a banged-up church, reciting a passage from the Bible before bemoaning the loss of his congregation. Jerome acknowledges the rising attitude of extremism and the cult telling people ‘exactly what they wanted to hear.’ Before revealing a gun hidden within his Bible.
Far Cry 5 will bring all new vehicles to its playground, with planes and ATVs set to arrive in-game. We’ll be able to play the campaign alongside a friend via online multiplayer. And Ubisoft has confirmed that the map editor will return once more. There’s speculation that the game will allow for vehicle modification, based on the vehicle stylings shown in the reveal trailer. Though nothing’s been any confirmation yet.
Far Cry 5 releases on February 27, 2018, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
