Time to chuck up the dirt once more
This Friday on June 9, Codemasters will release DiRT 4, the latest in their rallying racer franchise. The game is due for release on PS4, Xbox One and Steam with the launch trailer above published to celebrate the release.
From watching that trailer, it certainly looks the part.
DiRT  4 carries with it the official license for the FIA World Rallycross Championship, giving it the rights to show off a few famous tracks like Montalegre, Lohéac Bretagne, Hell, Holjes and Lydden Hill in a multitude of different series.
On those tracks (and more) you can race on over fifty different cars. I remember back in my Colin McRae Rally days on the old PlayStation 1 enjoying use of the Ford Focus that looked a lot like my dad’s car at the time. DiRT 4 is no exception, featuring that and a whole wealth of cars that carry a fair dose of rallying heritage. From the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI to the Audi Sport Quattro, there is plenty to love for rallying fans.
Landrush mode is also set to come for DiRT 4, promising dirt track racing on Pro Buggies, Pro-2 Trucks and more.
As expected from a racing sim with an eye for detail, expect to see plenty of damage that could be dealt to cars that have always been built to take a good bit of a beating.
