The U.S.S. Anomaly is the latest feature for Escapist 2 ahead of its August 22 release
“I’m escaping to the one place that hasn’t been corrupted by capitalism… SPACE!’ – Tim Curry said that a long, long time ago. And whilst capitalism may not have made it to the stars just yet, the penitentiary system most certainly has, as the latest trailer for Escapists 2 heads for the stars! Take a look at it below.
The latest trailer shows off the fabulous ‘prison of tomorrow’ complete with space robots, space showers, and even space food! Players will have a tricky time trying to get around the station without the robots knowing, though the level – as is the case with all Escapists prisons – holds more than one exit.
We were also given a sneak peek into a few film references that litter the new map – my favourite being “Game over man… GAME OVER!’ And I suspect the new U.S.S. Anomaly will have a few other references for players to chuckle at before they get back to work on making a tunnel to escape from… or is it a space tunnel now?
Escapists 2 will ‘touch down’ (because… space) for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on August 22, and Switch players will get a later release date in 2017. Team17 are trying to sweeten the deal for fans of the game by throwing in the wonderfully disturbing ‘Grand Regime’ prison map for players who pre-order Escapists 2.
