Well this surely came out of nowhere. Admittedly, if a movie-tie in game would be released, it would be alongside a movie. Not once the hype has gone down.

Enough cynicism. The Imaginarium Studios has teamed up with FoxNext Games to announce Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier; a new narrative game based on the Planet of the Apes movie franchise, which has been running rampant since 1968. The game is set for a release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. However, no release timetable has been revealed.

The game is an adventure game of conquest featuring multiple endings depending on your actions and choices. The events of the game are set between Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes movie and will put players in a cinematic experience where every decision will affect the fragile balance between peace and war.

To provide different views on the conflict, players will be able to play from both sides of the war to have a deeper understanding of the motivations of each species.

“We are committed to exploring and expanding next-generation storytelling, and Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier represents an exciting marriage of technology and creativity, all set in a rich universe of which I am very proud” said Andy Serkis, Founder of The Imaginarium.
