Well, it’s been a while, hasn’t it? Rejoice with the return of W-W-P-W!

Each week we’ll give you the low-down on the games that have been keeping the GGS Gamer staff busy on their consoles, PCs and handhelds.

Here’s what we’ve been playing this week …

Vikki

  • Destiny 2 (PS4) – Expect this game to be listed here forever more; I remain hopelessly in love with Bungie’s Sci-fi shooter, and no amount of needling from you is going to change my mind. Right now I’m getting my alt characters powered up, and religiously working through the weekly milestones. I am Legend, my friends.
  • Uncharted: Lost Legacy (PS4) – I was enjoying this, and then I encountered a game-breaking bug that no-one else in the world seems to have encountered, so I’m now ragey and pissed off. Which is a shame, as everyone says this is one of the greatest Uncharteds ever. Sad face. (I will try again in the week, in the hope a turning it off/on again will work!)
  • Halo 5: Guardians (XB1) – Yes, still playing this, too – not as much, admittedly, but it’s perma-installed and I periodically bounce back to it like an ex looking for a booty call.
  • F-Zero, Donkey Kong Country, Mario Kart (SNES Mini) – Turns out twenty years later, I’m still a fiend at F-Zero. Braking is for wimps.

Jay

  • Final Fantasy 9 (PS4) – After the announcement at Sony’s Press Conference, I jumped straight over to the PlayStation Store to grab this unforgettable adventure and finally after 17 years I conquered that 1000 jumps in the jump rope mini game!!! Platinum trophy for FF9 here I come!!
  • Yakuza Kiwami (PS4) – I missed out on the original Yakuza back in the PS2 days so I jumped at the chance to review this game, I should probably start writing my review soon… Damn FF9.
  • Overwatch (PC) – I’m generally always playing Overwatch with a few of my buddies whenever they’re online and with the upcoming Halloween event around the corner, I got start saving in-game currency for those limited skins, voice clips and emotes.

John

  • Titanfall 2 (PS4) – Right, I bloody love this game. I started playing relatively late back in March and since then it’s become my go-to game each and every day.
Attrition is still by far the best mode for multiplayer, whilst the story mode still has me flicking through my favourite levels and playing them all over again. If you haven’t played it yet, go out and get it – there’s no excuse.
  • White Day (PS4) – I’ve only just started this so I’m still making up my mind. I’m terrible with horror games, it took me six months to finish Resident Evil 7 simply because the opening hour scared me so much. White Day has a lot going for it with the atmosphere and sound of the game, but the voice acting (from what I’ve played) totally goes against the tense vibe of the game.

I imagine my post next week will probably be a tearful sob session about how scary the game is, but until then, I get to act brave.

Jacob

  • Paint the Town Red (PC) – A cute little game where the player is thrust into multiple different confrontations. For example a biker gang bar brawl or a prison riot. The objective is simple, survive.
What keeps me playing is the huge modding community that keeps churning out new challenges and new levels that keep me on my toes. It’s cheap and fun!

Sarah

  • Destiny 2 (PS4) – My first venture back into shooty-type-games after a five year hiatus (thanks, Vik!). I’ve got a warlock at level 20 but I’m currently leveling a titan because, trophies!
  • Final Fantasy 9 (PS4) – I’d forgotten how much I love the soundtrack – and hate the Active Time Events!
  • World of Warcraft (PC) – This will pretty much always be on my list – don’t judge me! My guild has cleared to current raid at heroic level and and now it’s just a waiting game for the next patch – and Blizzcon announcements!

Stewart

  • Destiny 2 (PS4) – Getting frustrated queuing for raids.
  • Star Wars Battlefront (PS4) – Thanks to EA recently giving away the season pass for freeeeee, I am revisiting the various Star Wars locales, and shooting shit up.
  • World of Warcraft (PC) – Levelling yet another alt, but this time it’s Bhadgar the fire mage, older brother of Khadgar.
  • Heroes of The Storm (PC) – Pwning trolls on my favourite MOBA.

How about you?
