The least anticipated title of the decade has a release date.

Konami has announced that Metal Gear Survive will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox on February 22nd, 2018 for the low price of £34.99/€39.99.

Additionally, the publisher/developer unveiled the pre-order bonuses. Those who take the chance to jump on this Metal Gear spinoff’s bandwagon will receive a Survival Bonus pack:

  • 4 Gold-plated weapons: Bat, Sledgehammer, Survival Machete and Survival Spear
  • 4 Metallic survival scarves: Green, Blue, Pink and Silver
  • 2 Gestures: “Thumbs Up” and “Happy”
  • Mother Base Nameplate
  • “BOXMAN [THE ORANGE]” accessory
  • “Kabuki” face paint

Metal Gear Survive picks up after the events of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes demo as players are pulled through a wormhole and find themselves in a dangerous world filled with biological threats and hostile environments where they must survive and find their way home.

In order to survive, players will have to not only fight off zombies, but also scour every nook and cranny for supplies to eat, build weapons and other useful items.

Metal Gear Survive features both a single player campaign and co-op gameplay with up to four players. The single player experience will focus on resource management, character progression through base camp development and crafting. Weapons and gear crafted in solo mode can be used in co-op. Co-op will feature up to four players fighting for survival as they search for loot which can be used in single player.

Wanna know the funniest thing? Despite the game having solo content, as per the box art, the game requires an online connection to be played. So does that mean once Konami takes down the servers, players will have a very expensive coaster?

Once the game hits, I’ll really be curious about the sales figure.
