The Sea of Thieves Closed Beta will run from 12pm on January 24 until 8pm on January 28, giving players a full five days to get stuck into the pirate’s way of life. Additionally, streamers will be pleased to hear that it won’t be covered by an NDA, allowing them to stream or share the game in any way they see fit.

If you joined the Sea of Thieves Insider Programme before December 1, 2017, you’ll automatically be eligible, as will anyone who pre-orders the game.

Rare has promised “a bespoke experience” for closed beta players, allowing them a “true taste of what Sea of Thieves has to offer.” The full game won’t be tested during the Closed Beta as Rare are keen to save things for players to discover when the game officially launches In March. Details on how to download the Closed Beta client are available on the official site.

Sea of Thieves is due for release on March 20, 2018 on PC and Xbox One.
