Originally introduced during the Xbox keynote at E3 2017, “The Darwin Project,†will enter its first open beta period this weekend, January 19 – 21, on PC!
A battle royale game built around audience participation, the beta will include two new features that take full advantage of interactive streaming. Stream hosts, called “Show Directors,†are the host and master who control the arena with nuclear bombs, zone closures, and gravity storms. The host can queue and trigger various in-game events that viewers can vote on and influence, enabling the audience to shift the rules of engagement, or even the arena itself. So, for example, viewers can collectively vote to use the “Manhunt,†power to select a target that players can eliminate for extra points.
You can join the beta through Steam, and check out the viewer integration through Mixer.
