Gaming News Made Easy… Like a Sunday Morning
Didn’t get your fill of gaming news this week? Well, luck for you, we’ve rounded up the biggest stories and rumours of the week in one handy article. And, with a couple of tasty rumour morsels coming our way this week, there’s quite a bit to catch up on.
The Rumour Mill: Is Project Parkside Bioshock 4?
Right, let’s jump straight into the good stuff. Based on a report by Kotaku’s Jason Screier, IGN have claimed that the mysterious Project Parkside at 2K Studios could be the codename for the next Bioshock game.
IGN’s Austin Wood reached out to sources at Kotaku, who said that any conversation of the Parkside project was quickly shutdown by the development team. And whilst there is a team working on this Parkside project, IGN have reported that the game is still in the early stages of development.
The article also throws out the possibility that Parkside could also refer to a potential Borderlands 3, with the idea based on 2K’s mention of a return of one of the studio’s “biggest franchises.†And, whether Parkside is Bioshock 4 or Borderlands 3, 2K’s fiscal reports slates the game’s release for March 2019. So, there’s still a while to wait before we get our hands on the game – but there’s always the chance of a reveal trailer this year.
The Rumour Mill: Doom at E3?
Okay, if you think the Bioshock rumour is thin, then this rumour is a wafer. Based on a single phrase from an interview with Peter Hines on Dualshockers, Rely on Horror has suggested that Bethesda could be gearing up to reveal a new Doom game at E3 this year.
To be fair to the story, the phrase “hell on earth†seems a tad unnatural, and Peter Hines seemed pretty intent on getting some momentum for Bethesda’s E3 conference, so a new Doom release two years after its massively successful comeback isn’t the craziest idea, but we’ll have to wait and see.
PUBG is Getting a Free Play Day
If you haven’t had a chance to play PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, then you’ll be glad to know that it’s going free to play for a whole week.
Running from April 19 to April 22, PUBG is the stand out title included with Xbox Live Gold’s Free Play Days, offering players the full experience of the game, with all the modes included and any BP you earn available to transfer over to the game if you buy it after the free week.
