Each week we’ll give you the low-down on the games that have been keeping the GGS Gamer staff busy on their consoles, PCs and handhelds.

Here’s what we’ve been playing this week …

  • LEGO Marvel Super Heroes (XB360) – Taking down the backlog one game at a time.
  • SSX 3 (XB1) – Loving it like the first time I played it in 2003.

  • God of War (PS4) – I feel that I’m coming to the end of the journey but with a ton of side content, I’m hoping my time with this game continues a while longer. P.S. Kratos says “Boy” far too often that it has become a meme and I love it.
  • Final Fantasy VIII (PC) – I love this game but I can’t remember a majority of the plot so I thought I’d revisit it and refresh my memory. Also, Square Enix, listen up! Please haul ass and release FF8 on PS4 so my Final Fantasy grows bigger plus, I want to attempt that platinum!

  • Assassin’s Creed Origins (PC) – This game is so ridiculously fun, but I am so ridiculously bad at stealth kills. I keep hoping I’ll get better at it as I progress through the game, but so far I seem to be really good at alerting enemies to my presence.
  • Overwatch (PC) – I played so much trying to get the Blackwatch Moira skin and still ended up having to use all my coins for it. Now that the Retribution event is over, I’ll probably take a short break from Overwatch while I cry over the fact that I didn’t get all the skins I wanted.

  • Tomb Raider (XB1) – With Shadow of the Tomb Raider getting a pretty bloody intriguing trailer last week, I though I’d finally give the reboots a go. And, after bingeing on the first game over the weekend, watching Lara’s journey of personal growth, becoming a top-notch murderer, and… falling an extraordinary amount of times, I was left just wanting more from an absolutely brilliant game.
  • Bioshock 2 (PS4) – I’ve been playing this on and off for a year, I’ve just started a new game to make things a bit easier, and whilst people say this is the weakest in the Bioshock series, I can already feel the game’s plot luring me into a series of late nights, and being late for work a lot this week.

  • Stardew Valley (PC) – So I may have accidently bought this on Monday. I’m really enjoying it – it feels like a friendlier Don’t Starve, and without the survival part. So far at least!
  • World of Warcraft (PC) – Made myself a Void Elf warlock and am going to get it to 110 so it can be my Alliance alt in BfA.
