Each week we’ll give you the low-down on the games that have been keeping the GGS Gamer staff busy on their consoles, PCs and handhelds.

Here’s what we’ve been playing this week …

Jay

  • God of War (PS4) – I’ve finished this incredible and emotional journey! I cannot wait for the sequels that Cory Barlog has promised are on the way!
  • The Swords of Ditto (PS4) – This is a charming little Zelda-like dungeon crawler that has a cute art style akin to modern cartoons like Gravity Falls or Steven Universe. I haven’t played much due to a power outage late last night but I hope to play around a little more and get a review published as soon as possible.

  • Assassin’s Creed Origins (PC) – You ever binge a game for hours at a time only to realize you’ve gone down the side quest rabbit hole and haven’t progressed the main story at all? That’s me with Assassin’s Creed Origins this past week.

John

  • Rise of the Tomb Raider (XB1) – Making the most of the long weekend and my Game Pass, I blitzed through the second Tomb Raider reboot and now I’m all caught up and looking forward to Shadow of the Tomb Raider this year.
  • ReCore (XB1) – Another Game Pass title, ReCore seemed to suffer a mixture of bad release timing and a pretty much absent marketing campaign, meaning what was one of only a handful of Xbox exclusives in recent years quickly fell into the ether. I’m really not sure what to make of the game, it looks… okay, the characters are ‘meh’, and the gameplay is fairly generic, but I’m actually enjoying the simplicity of it – whether that will see me through the whole game remains to be seen.

Stewart

  • World of Warcraft (PC) – With what limited time I’ve had recently, I have been levelling a Void Elf alt ready for Battle for Azeroth, so that I can unlock the Void Elf heritage armour set and have something fresh to do the Alliance story campaign on when the expansion releases.

Sarah

  • Lake Ridden (PC) – My review should be up on Thursday! You’ll have to wait until then because, you know, embargoes and stuff.
  • World of Warcraft (PC) – Loving the new scaling of leveling areas. Put a few more levels on my void elf but haven’t had an amazing amount of time to play this week. :(
