Nintendo has shown off the new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for Nintendo Switch at their Nintendo Direct 2018, with a new trailer that has tons of info. All current fighter amiibo figures (even from other series) and Super Smash Bros. amiibos will be supported, and there will be a multitude of controller support; Gamecube (both original or newly designed ones), Joy-Con, or the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. It’ll also allow you to have up to eight fighters per fight.

Every fighter in the series’ history (almost 20 years’ worth!) will be joining the roster in this new title! Ice Climber and The Pokémon Trainer returns with Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard, and change Pokemon as much as you like – there’s no penalty for sticking with just one. There are also two new fighters – Metroid’s Ridley, and the Inkling from the Splatoon series.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will combine many new items and stages with gameplay to ensure that players of all skill levels are able to jump in and play. The game is being directed by Masahiro Sakurai, and will be available December 7, 2018!
