Conan Exiles sets new sales records for Funcom.
Great news for Conan Exiles publisher and developer Funcom this week, as they have announced that their open-world survival game is not only the best-selling game in the Funcom catalogue but also the fastest-selling game in the company’s history.
Previously the title was held by Conan stablemate Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures which sold around 1.4 million units within three years of its release in 2008. Conan Exiles managed to sell the same amount of units from January 2017, when it was in Early Access, up until its full release on May 2018. Breaking the previous record in less than half of the time, proving that Conan the Barbarian and pals are still an attractive IP.
Funcom has also released a new ‘Accolades Trailer’ and the news that a new DLC is incoming. Adding to the first DLC ‘The Imperial East’, the new content titled ‘Jewel of the West’ will be launching in early August 2018. The downloadable content introduces new Aquilonia-themed building pieces, weapons, armour, furniture, and more. In Conan lore, Aquilonia is the centre of the civilized world and its clothing and architecture are inspired by that of the real-world Roman Empire.
“In addition to the ‘Jewel of the West’, the team is also hard at work putting together one of our biggest free updates yet. Launching later this quarter, this update will introduce pets and pet-taming to ‘Conan Exiles’, allowing players to find and tame anything from camels to panthers and even spiders and then use them to guard their base, carry resources, and more. This update will be free to all players on all platforms.†said Creative Director Joel Bylos.
Conan Exiles is out now and available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
