Claire Redfield enters the nightmares in Resident Evil 2!
More Gamescom news from Capcom has details from the Resident Evil 2 camp. College student Claire Redfield is confirmed rejoining the cast, as she searches for her missing brother, Chris Redfield. Arriving in Raccoon City, she’s thrown into the middle of a zombie outbreak taking over the city, thanks to the health and safety shy Umbrella Corp.
Using Capcom’s latest proprietary Resident Evil Engine, RE2 has been completely rebuilt from the ground up with new breath-taking visuals, modernised controls and a deeper narrative experience. Also touting a new camera angle from an “over the shoulder” perspective, and more fluid controls compared to the original game, Capcom hopes to bring one of the best Resident Evil games up to scratch and have us all saving the world from mutating zombie hordes.
The classic action, tense exploration, and puzzle solving gameplay that defined the Resident Evil series will return. With gamers playing as rookie police officer Leon S. Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield; thrust together by the disastrous outbreak in Raccoon City that transformed its population into the shambling undead. Both Leon and Claire have their own separate playable campaigns, allowing players to see the story from both characters’ perspectives, just like the original.
Resident Evil 2 will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on January 25, 2019.
