All guns blazing.

Overwatch’s 29th hero, Ashe, was announced at Blizzcon last Friday and we can now confirm that she is available for testing on the Overwatch PTR (Public Test Realm).

The developer update video, which you can watch above, sees Overwatch director, Jeff Kaplan talk about various aspects of Ashe, including her upbringing and how she came to be the leader of the Deadlock Gang, as well as her abilities, and how she might synergise with existing heroes.

In case you missed the announcement, Ashe takes on the role of a damage dealer, using her rifle, coach gun, and dynamite, or at a pinch, she can summon her Ultimate B.O.B. to lend a hand.

You can check out her abilities below:

  • The Viper: Ashe’s semi-automatic rifle fires quick shots, or she can use her aim-down sights for a more damaging, precise shot.
  • Dynamite: Ashe throws an explosive that detonates after a short delay or immediately when shot. The explosion from Dynamite also lights enemies on fire, dealing damage over time.
  • Coach Gun: Ashe blasts enemies in front of her, knocking them away and propelling herself backward for added mobility.
  • B.O.B.: Ashe summons her trusted omnic sidekick, B.O.B., who charges forward and knocks enemies into the air, then lays down suppressing fire with his arm cannons.
  • If last year’s Moira announcement and release timeline is anything to go by, we can expect to see Ashe out of the PTR and live in Overwatch in the next couple of weeks.
