All the news, all in one place.

As we close the doors on Black Friday (and let’s face it, none of us got much worth buying) and creep ever closer towards Christmas, the gaming industry keeps on chugging. We’ve got all your weekly news for you right here, so catch up over your morning coffee, and find out what big gaming news you missed this week:

Is there a new Xbox coming in 2019?

Thurrott, via Eurogamer, has hinted that 2019 may well bring us another Xbox One console – and it’s not the next-gen console that they’re slated to release in 2020, which is only known at the moment as “Scarlett.” This is also rumoured to be disc-less, and Thurrott reports that Microsoft is apparently looking into potential services that would let players trade in their physical copies of games for digital downloads instead. It’d no doubt be a widely controversial move – those with no internet connection or a poor download speed will struggle, and it does bring back unfortunate memories.

However, this could potentially mean lower costs for a disc-less console – potentially around £156/$200, and Phil Spencer has commented that they are looking for ways to lower the cost of the Xbox family of consoles to make entry more accessible. Though take this with a pinch of salt – for now, we’ll just have to wait and see.

So in other words, hope you didn’t have plans for a good, ooh, six months…

Dataminers have found map variations for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

Weather variations appear to be in the works for various maps in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 – Eurogamer, with the story via Videogamer, hints that the Firing Range will have a night time option, and the Seaside map will have a sunset and showers makeover. If you check out the video above, it suggests that there will be two new maps, but only the time of day and weather will change – no new layouts.

No word as to when, or how much this new content will be, however, so you’ll have to keep your eyes open.

No Man’s Sky is getting a free update.

The new “Visions,” update is out now for No Man’s Sky, and there’s a whole heap of new content coming. If you check out the trailer, it’ll show you collectable Exploration Trophies, new creatures, plants, rainbows, brought to you in a “reimagined colour palette.” Whatever that may be. It’ll also improve the diversity of planet surfaces and bring in collectible artifacts, but be careful while you’re on the hunt, as there’s “predatory fauna and deadly flora,” lurking about. Salvage parts from downed satellites as you do, but be sure to avoid the corrupted sentinel drones that patrol the planet.
