The first beta phase starts on December 5.

Focus Home Interactive has released the first video in a new Battle Overview gameplay series, highlighting everything you need to know about Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2, prior to the first beta phase, early next month.

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 promises that “all twelve factions from the tabletop game are now represented,” and with each having unique ships and new mechanics, that’s a lot to take in. That’s where the Battle Overview gameplay series comes in, showing how you can use each unique faction’s strengths to your advantage with the various layouts that the maps offer.

You can watch the first video, below.

Each faction will feel very different, even though those differences may not be readily apparent; the Aeldari Corsairs and Asuryani Craftworlds or the Tau Protectorate Fleet and Merchant Fleet, for example, have variations in “what they can field.” This adds impact to the decisions you make, meaning your choice of ships, armaments, admiral skills, and fleet upgrades will all impact how you play.

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 is the sequel to (unsurprisingly) Battlefleet Gothic: Armada, an RTS set in outer space, in the universe of Warhammer 40,000.

The first beta phase is scheduled to run from December 5 to December 12 and is available to anyone that’s pre-ordered the game. Don’t panic if you haven’t, there’s a 10% discount until launch – or 25% discount if you own the original Battlefleet Gothic: Armada.

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 is set for release on PC on January 24, 2019.
