Crashes onto consoles in June.
During the Game Awards 2018, Activision announced Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, a remaster of Crash Team Racing, is set to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch on June 21, 2019.
The announcement trailer, which you can watch below, gives us a glimpse at the improvements between the PlayStation original and the remastered version, along with the many characters you’ll be able to play and the tracks they’ll be racing on.
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, developed by Beenox, has been completed rebuilt and sees the return of the characters, karts, tracks, and arenas from the original game. Crash, Coco, Dr. Neo Cortex will be amongst the characters you can choose from, as you go up against the evil Nitros Oxide.
Players will be able to play alone or with friends, both online and offline and get to choose between Adventure, Arcade Single Race, Cup Race, Time Trials, and Battle Mode.
“Not only are we revamping Crash Team Racing from the kart up in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled,” said Thomas Wilson, Co-Studio Head at Beenox. “We are giving fans a whole lot more including all the characters and tracks they love, with tons of added animations and personality that the original platform just couldn’t convey. We can’t wait to see fans go head-to-head as they test their Crash kart racing mettle in online multiplayer.”
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is available to pre-order now, as well as a special edition; Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled – Nitros Oxide Edition. In addition to the game, the special edition will give you Nitros Oxide as a playable character from the start and in all game modes, as well as Oxide’s Hovercraft kart, space-themed character skins for Crash, Coco, Cortex, and more.
Don’t worry if you don’t want to fork out for the Nitros Oxide Edition, you’ll be able to earn the Nitros Oxide character and Oxide’s Hovercraft kart by completing challenges in the Adventure Mode.
