Earlier this week, during the Game Awards, Ubisoft unveiled a new chapter in the long running Far Cry series. Dubbed Far Cry New Dawn, Ubisoft is finally bringing a post-apocalyptic world to the award winning franchise.
Far Cry New Dawn is set 17 years after a global nuclear catastrophe which, SPOILER ALERT, occured at the end of Far Cry 5; meaning it’s a direct sequel to my personal 2018 Game Of The Year. Players will get to re-visit Hope County, Montana where life has begun to be re-born anew after the catastrophe of the final moments of Far Cry 5.
While some residents of Hope County just want to go back to more peaceful times, the Highwaymen and their leaders The Twins, Mickey and Lou, have other ideas in mind. They invade Hope County in other to scavenge all of the remaining resources. A new feature for the Far Cry series will make it’s debut: Expeditions. Expeditions will allow players to be dropped into unique locations in order find valuables and get out before it’s too late. The Guns For Hire makes its return to Far Cry New Dawn; so expect new and returning support characters.
Far Cry New Dawn is currently on track for a February 15th 2019 release for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
