After months and months of waiting PS4 players can finally jump into PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds as the game made its debut on Sony’s current-gen hardware last Friday, December 7th. The game is currently available digitally and at retail for £24.99. By logging into the game, PS4 players will receive an exclusive Pixel Art parachute skin.

Here’s what the CMO of PUBG Corp, Richard Kwon, had to say about this release:

“As of today, PUBG is open to PlayStation 4’s tens of millions of players, which is an important milestone for our global team. In addition to experiencing our game for the first time, the PlayStation community can also look forward to upcoming content, such as our new map Vikendi.”

Furthermore, they’ve also confirmed that the Vikendi snow map is currently on test servers for PC and will arrive to console, PS4 and Xbox One, next month.

The new map, Vikendi, was unveiled during last week’s Game Awards. It’s a brand new 6×6 Winter themed map which mixes the rush of Sanhok and the tension of Erangel. Considering it’s taking place in an environment surrounded by snow, players will leave footsteps meaning the hunter will become the hunted. The map also includes a new weapon, the G36C rifle and also bring a snowmobile to facilitate riding around the frozen landscape. The map will available to PC players on December 19.
