What could the “Z†stand for?
Because there’s no such thing as “too many zombie games,†there’s another one on the way in Saber Interactive’s World War Z. We’ve seen a few bits and pieces of the game already but we now also know that it’ll be arriving for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on April 16.
As you might expect, the game is a spin-off of that Brad Pitt movie where they go to Wales, and it’s looking like a pretty nifty little game from the footage we’ve seen so far.
Being shown predominantly as a co-op affair, WWZ has you and a few chums gearing up and shooting swarming hordes of the undead. There are six different classes to choose from in th quick and quiet Slasher, the heavy-hitting Hellraiser, the tricky Exterminator, suppressing fire expert Gunslinger, along with Engineer and Medic classes to choose from. One question we’re still asking is whether squads will only be able to have one of each character
Along with the co-op mode, WWZ will also feature a pretty exciting-sounding player and AI hybrid mode. This will see you not only fighting against those pesky zombies but also having to kill any other players you come across because – as we all know – Man is always the real monster (you’d think it was the bloodthirsty zombies but apparently that’s not the case).
World War Z arrives on April 16 for PC through the Epic Games Store, PS4, and Xbox One.
