During today’s EVO Japan event, Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja dropped more information about their upcoming entry in the Dead or Alive series.
First off, the developer announced a deluxe demo that will be available from February 22nd to 24th where PSN+ and Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be able to try out the game through 24 playable characters. The upcoming demo will also feature a bevvy of game modes: online Ranked and Lobby matches, as well as Free Training, Tutorial, Command Training, Combo Challenge, and an introduction to Story mode.
Team Ninja also announced the first details of the upcoming Dead or Alive World Championship. Qualifiers will take place in North America, Europe, and Asia, with each region’s top players competing at the Grand Finals in Japan. Qualifiers and Grand Finals total prize money will be equivalent to 10 Million Yen (JPY).
Futhermore, the developer announced a collaboration with SNK by bringing King of Fighters combatants into the roster of DOA6. As part of the first Season Pass, Mai Shiranui will join the DOA crew in June. Another yet to be announced KOF fighter will also be made available.
The Season Pass 1 content will feature a plethora of additional costumes: DOA6 Happy Wedding Costumes Vol. 1 and 2, DOA6 New Costumes set Vol. 1 and 2, and additional character costumes for the two SNK fighters along with new NiCO and Nyotengu costumes. All content will be available between March and June.
Dead Or Alive 6 is currently slated to punch its way to stores for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on March 1st.
