Making a withdrawal, 47?
IO Interactive has unveiled the 2019 roadmap for Hitman 2 and it looks like it’s going to be a very busy year for us wannabe assassins.
The big news is the reveal of the two new locations coming to the season pass holders. First there’s the Bank location, set to arrive this summer. We don’t know much about this location other than the possibility of the target being a woman. The other location, arriving in autumn, will take us to a sunny resort… complete with a palm tree (we don’t know anything more so we’ll just focus on the palm tree for now). The new locations look as if they’ll only be available for players with a Hitman 2 season pass, either included with the Gold Edition of the game or bought separately.
There’s a lot more going on in Hitman 2 other than the new locations though. The roadmap teases a selection of “Special Assignments” for season pass holders, which (we’re guessing) will unfold in a similar fashion to the bonus missions from Hitman 2016, which took us back to the game’s original locations with slight modifications and a new target.
There’s plenty of free updates planned for the game as well. The usual events like Elusive Targets, Escalation Contracts, Featured Contracts, and new challenges all being continued for the game. Though IO has also teased a couple of new unlockables coming for Miami, Columbia, and snazzy looking knife.
Finally, we’ll get four new themes across the year, with the first – Spring Break – set to arrive at the end of spring before a Jungle Summer theme arrives in, erm, summer. Autumn will get two themes with a Rivals theme arriving before a Halloween update. All these extras will arrive for everyone as free updates.
