Another acquisition!?
Psychonauts developer has been acquired by Xbox Game Studios. The news was announced alongside a new trailer for Psychonauts 2 but we didn’t get a release date.
The acquisition is the latest studio buy up from Microsoft, which also bought a handful of studios last year as the publisher looks to buff up its first-party developer roster.
In a separate video explaining the studio buy up, Double Fine’s head honcho Tim Schafer explained that the original crowd-funded commitments the studio made would be kept and that the acquisition would not affect the type of games that Double Fine want to make.
