Rewrite history of the Three Kingdoms…again
Koei Tecmo America has announced the return of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series to PC and PS4. The publisher/developer announced that Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV will release sometime next year to the aforementioned platforms.
The game takes place once again during the the fall of the Han Dynasty in ancient China where battles take place in a boundary-free scramble for land. The in-game map will show the territories captured using a simplified color system which will pay homage to the original Romance of The Three Kingdoms XIV first release on PC way back in 1985.
Additionally, the game will will adopt the ruler-based system from RTK9 and RTK11 which brings back classic gameplay to the long-running franchise meaning everything takes place on a single map.
Koei Tecmo is also adding a new Evolved Artificial Intelligence system which will ensure that no playthroughs are the same as each organizations are dictacted by a ruler’s ideals.
