Do you have the urge for the Surge?
Coming this September 24 is the release of the sequel to 2017’s “The Surge”; imaginatively titled “The Surge 2”. This follow-up game from developers Deck 13 and publishers Focus Home Interactive looks to build on the success of its original game and improve on all the favourite bits and pieces to make a beast of a game.
To heighten the hype and quench the thirst of some of the most rabid fans, a new story trailer has been released to show off some of the cinematics and tease at the story campaign for The Surge 2. Check out the new trailer below.
It’s a pretty grim looking future, with the inhabitants of the world and in particular, Jericho City having succumbed to a type of nanovirus that has transformed the minds and bodies of those it has encountered.
Nano-cultists are running rampant through the streets, harvesting everything they can for their mysterious ends. The government forces of A.I.D attempt to maintain a stranglehold on the city, all the while, Athena, a girl with whom you have a special connection, leads you through the streets to a destination unknown.
With meaty melee combat that makes gameplay look like a futuristic version of Dark Souls, this is definitely one of those games to keep an eye on.
The Surge 2 will release on September 24, 2019, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
