Log-in to celebrate, reminisce, and get your hands on some free booty!

Blizzcon is over, but there is still celebrating going on. It’s hard to believe that I first stepped into the land of Azeroth 15 years ago when I arrived home on launch day to load into the World of Warcraft for the first time, but here we are – 15 years later – still playing for the Horde and defending Azeroth from a neverending stream of baddies.

With the weekly server reset (November 6), players who log in to WoW’s current expansion “Battle for Azeroth” will receive a special package in their in-game mail that includes a Lil’ Nefarian pet, a quest from Chromie to visit the Caverns of Time, and an experience/reputation buff.

Answering Chromie’s quest will take you to the Caverns of Time and let you join in on the celebrations taking place there. Indulge in some Khadgar’s Head Football whilst you wait for queues to pop, or run around popping celebration balloons with your anniversary balloon popping pins.

There are two main events to take part in; the Memories of Azeroth, and the Return to Alterac Valley. Also, the LFR mini raids give 420 item level loot (with a chance to warforge/titanforge) and chances for rare mounts like Ashes of Al’ar and Invincible to drop, so you might want to complete the events on your alt-characters. Here are the event details part:

Memories of Azeroth â€“ This Raid Finder event will take players back in time to boss encounters from The Burning CrusadeWrath of the Lich King, and Cataclysm. Players who conquer these trials will be rewarded with the Obsidian Worldbreaker, a Deathwing-inspired mount!

Return to Alterac Valley – PVP players will get to experience the Alterac Valley battleground as it existed in its earliest days. Complete the Alterac Valley of Olde achievement and earn two new mounts: the Stormpike Battle Ram (Alliance) and the Frostwolf Snarler (Horde).

So as you can see, there are a few mounts to collect, and some serious reminiscing of old raid encounters. It was fun watching newer players die to the Lich King again, and people not remembering the Safety Dance, so mission accomplished on bringing those anniversary feels. And minor bug aside (mount disappearing if you log out) the Obsidian Worldbreaker is one awesome looking dragon mount.
