Listen up all you trainers out there! Think you know Pokemon GO? Well think again! Or, at least, maybe think a little harder, because there are some changes afoot, courtesy of the masterminds behind the highly addictive pocket monster catching game themselves, Niantic.

According to their most recent announcement, trainers will soon be able to enjoy the following in-game additions/improvements:

   – Access to nearby Raid Battles from wherever you are with a Remote Raid Pass

   – A bonus Field Research task that you’ll receive daily without having to spin a PokéStop

   – As you run low on Gifts, your buddy will venture to nearby PokéStops on your behalf to bring some to you

   – The ability to power up your Pokémon to the desired CP by feeding them Candy and using Stardust just once

   – Stacking the number of Star Pieces, Lucky Eggs, and Incense you’d like to use in an extended play session and past the regular 30 minute limit

   – Other updates including improved battle screen design and performance

Details, details, I hear you cry! Sheesh, ok, so where to start?

Remote Raid Passes will be available to all players, allowing trainers to enter any Raid remotely by tapping on it on their map. However, only a limited number of Remote Raid Pass holding trainers will be able to join the 20-strong Raid, so you’ll have to be quick!

The new Daily Bonus Field Research task will be applied to an open Field Research slot if available at the time of its download, set to be midnight each night. The catch is that if you don’t have a free slot, although it will create a fourth for itself, it won’t create more than that, meaning trainers will be unable to stack these tasks. The good news is that they’ll differ from the normal PokeStop spinning tasks, focussing on activities that you can complete from wherever you are.

Gifts and Power-ups are set to have a makeover too, with buddy’s stepping up to fetch gifts from nearby PokeStops on your behalf, as and when needed. Power-up wise, trainers will now be able to feed their chosen Pokemon as many candies and as much Stardust as required in one sitting in order to upgrade their CP level, which should make things a heck of a lot faster.

Star Piece, Lucky Egg, and Incense multiple stacking is set to change trainers lives. These items will still only have a 30 minute activation duration but players will be able to stack up to 200 of them at a time! However, this update comes with a warning: once you’ve stacked them you’re unable to re-claim the items, so stack carefully.

Phew, I’m exhausted. I’m gonna make like a Snolax and catch some Zs. See all you other trainers out in the field!
