With next-gen upon us, Rockstar Games has detailed their backward compatibility plan for their games currently available on PS4 and Xbox One.
Those who pick up an Xbox Series S/X will be able to play the following games:
– Bully: Scholarship Edition
– Grand Theft Auto IV
– Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City
– Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
– Midnight Club: Los Angeles
– Red Dead Redemption
– Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis
On the hand other, players picking up a PS5 will be able to play the following games previous generation titles:
– Bully
– Grand Theft Auto III
– Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
– Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
– Manhunt
– Max Payne
– Red Dead Revolver
– The Warriors
And as an added bonus, all PS+ members will continue to get GTA$1,000,000 (deposited into their in-game Maze Bank account within 72 hours of log-in) each month they play the PS4 version of GTA Online, up until the launch of the new standalone version of GTA Online on PlayStation 5 in 2021.
Players will be able to transfer save files and full games via LAN cables, connecting wirelessly, or with USB storage. You can also transfer the most recent cloud save tied to your PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live account.
Your current progress and accomplishments in both Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Online will also carry over, provided you are using the same PlayStation Network or Xbox Live account on the new console via the Rockstar Social Club.
