PC Gamer Weekender has announced that they are partnering up with the European Gaming League for their upcoming event, due to take place on March 5th and 6th in London. The event will hold two sessions of tournaments throughout the day, consisting of Dota 2, League of Legends, Hearthstone, Rocket League and Street Fighter V.
From 10am, competitors can register for League of Legends, Rocket League and Street Fighter V, with the tournament starting at 10.30am. For those interested in League of Legends, Dota 2 and Hearthstone, registration starts at 12pm and the action commences at 1.30pm.
Dota 2 and League of Legends will not have traditional team based competitions, however. Dota 2 will consist of a 1v1 Solo Mid match, with the winner being the first to destroy a tower or score two kills. League of Legends will also be a 1v1 match, taking place in a custom version on Howling Abyss.
Rocket League and Hearthstone will take place in the standard tournament modes with the winners receiving Lenovo and GT Omega prizes. Prizes will be available to those that have a 5 win-streak on Street Fighter V, with the winner-stays-on tournament style.
“We are really pleased to be running the e-Sports element of the PC Gamer Weekender and are super pumped to bring some of the world’s greatest online multiplayer games to London in a competitive environment.” States Glen Elliott, founder of the EGL.
For those wondering what other things there are to do at PC Gamer Weekender, there are workshops dedicated to teaching people how to build PCs, a hardware zone for people to see the latest PC equipment, talks taking place at the PC Gamer Stage, the SEGA Common Room for those wishing to meet the SEGA staff and play their games, and the Boardgame Basement.
